On Tuesday morning I arrived at the Buffalo Ranch just as the Lamar pups were approaching a small herd of elk. As I quickly got set up the chase began with the wolves soon singleing out a lone elk and chasing her downslope. Three blacks were involved with the gray watching from the ridge above. They really never got close and soon retreated to the top of the slope and out of sight.
