Officials agree to slaughter 600 to 900 Yellowstone bison this winter

And so it goes again this year, up to 900 of Yellowstone's iconic bison will be slaughtered to appease special interest groups. Currently Yellowstone's bison are not allowed to roam most of their historic range on Montana's federal lands because ranchers want to use this land to graze their cattle. It sickens me that we, the public, have no say about how our public lands are used. Even though most of us would prefer to see bison on this land instead of cattle, our objections fall on deaf ears. This disgraceful practice is typical of the way we "manage" our wildlife since our culture values money above all else. Shame on us.
